The Aerospace industry is increasingly relying on advanced numerical flow simulation tools for analyzing all the components of aircraft. The main part which helps in producing lift is wings. So, the shape of the aerofoil should be designed in such a manner so that maximum lift can be achieved. In this project, you are going to work on a standard NACA airfoil and analyze it using finite element volume tool AcuSolve. Then you have to validate your numerical result with the wind tunnel experiment result.
Heat Exchangers are widely used in most engineering fields, such as the process, power, automotive, cryogenics, refrigeration, air conditioning, heat recovery, manufacturing industries, etc. So, a lot of research is going on to develop and improve heat exchanger effectiveness. The aerodynamic properties of a cricket ball can greatly be affected by the prominence of the seam, the surface roughness of the ball in play, and the launch attitude of the ball by the bowler. Based on seam angle and surface roughness of the ball, an asymmetric airflow over the ball due to pressure difference can be generated thereby deviating the flight from the intended path. This potential flight deviation is called swing. Therefore, it is extremely important to understand the aerodynamic properties of used cricket balls as wear and tear can have a major effect on the swing. The primary objectives of this work were to understand the aerodynamic properties of a series of used cricket balls, thus the mechanism of swing as well as the drag of a cricket ball.
The design and fabrication of a braking system is a difficult task. The application of brakes using vacuum in automobiles is a more difficult task in the initial stages of the work. But it has been successfully proved that such brake application is possible with the fail-safe condition. While implementing this idea on a heavy vehicle, it is better to replace the manually operated directional control valve with solenoid operated directional control valve to reduce driver effort and also it will work like a brake pedal switch. In this project, you will design and fabricate a vacuum braking system for a Train.
A Leaf spring is used in a four-wheel automobile vehicle as a part of the suspension system. These springs are generally made from steel, which adds a lot of weight to the vehicle leading to a decrease in the efficiency. In the case of lightweight vehicles, things become worse, as the weight of these spring is too heavy it leads to lower performance. In this project, you are going to solve this problem by designing a leaf spring in a solid modeling software and optimizing your design by varying the dimension and type of composite material so that weight will be reduced without compromising the effect needed from the spring.

Aircraft safety is improving by analyzing the defects in the fuselage and catastrophic failure investigations on aircraft structural components. The primary cause of failure identification and the analysis enable recommendations for corrective action.
The main purpose of this project is to minimize the loss of life in times of catastrophic failure of the hydraulic system or case of failure of engines. A new design concept that has the potential to save the lives of a thousand passengers in the event of an air crash. The notion involves the redesigning of a plane with the detachable wings that would eject during the emergency to touch down on land or water safety. It is the method of detaching the wings from an aircraft which is in the state of an unrecoverable stall, which could add up to damage in time of catastrophe.
In this project, we are going to fabricate an aircraft with detachable wings and the Orion parachute system (3 parachutes). Later creating a 3D model of an aircraft and run analysis over the model and obtain the results. At last a field test is conducted based on flight data requirements.
The landing gear is a structure, which supports the aircraft in the ground. A major part of aircrafts load is transferred to the landing gear during take-off and landing. These loads are then transferred to the airframe through landing gear beams. Wheels of the landing gear are added as per the size of the aircraft. The position of the landing gear depends on the design, type, and load of the aircraft. Some landing gear is mounted on wing and some under the fuselage.
In this project, we are going to create and analyze a 2D and 3D model of lug attachments in the landing gear.
A variable-sweep wing is a type of wing configuration, that changes the sweep angle of the wing during flight. This is a concept of hybrid wings used for a sudden increase in velocity and aerobatic purpose.
An ornithopter is a type of aircraft that flies by flapping its wings. Designers try to mimic the flight of birds, bats, and insects.
In this project, we are going to design and develop a scaled 3D model of ornithopter resembling an eagle. Then, kinematic data is obtained from the 3D model of ornithopter and fabricated to the required dimensions.
The landing gear forms a structure, which supports the aircraft on the ground. All the load will be acting on the landing gear during take-off and landing. The larger the aircraft more the wheels are added to the landing gear. The position of landing gear depends on the design, load, and type of aircraft. Most of them are mounted on the wing.

An airfoil-shaped body moving through a fluid produces an aerodynamic force. Some important constraints to describe an airfoil's shape are its camber and its thickness. For example, an airfoil of the NACA 4-digit series such as the NACA 2415 describes an airfoil with a camber of 0.02 chord located at 0.40 chord, with 0.15 chord of maximum thickness.
ICEM is a software developed by ICEM CFD engineering which provides classy geometry tools for mesh generation, pre-processing and mesh optimization tools. It is used for manufacturing applications such as computational fluid dynamics and mechanical analysis.

Technological advancement has proved the impossible things as possible. Similarly, the recent innovations in UAV’s (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) which are commonly known as drones paved the way for the newer way of transportation not only for carrying goods but also to carry humans from one place to another.
Increased usage of Automobiles like cars, bikes in the metro cities escalated the traffic and also increased pollution. To overcome both the issues here we are going to develop a drone project which can able to carry passengers from one place to another like a taxi.
In this CFD project, you will use ANSYS to analyse the fluid flow and heat transfer in a mixing elbow. Mixing elbow is used in piping systems of power plants and process industries to find the flow field and temperature field in the region of the mixing section which helps to fix the position of inlet pipes.
Before starting the project here is an overview of the problem which we are going to solve - Now a cold fluid (20C) is going to enter through the large inlet and it is going to get mixed with the warmer fluid (40C) which enters through a smaller inlet at the elbow. For the flow at the large inlet, the Reynolds number is 50,800, hence the turbulent flow model will be needed.

A heat pipe is a latent gadget with an upper heat conductance. It is a closed emptied tube or office of varied shapes. Its internal surfaces are stock-still with a fine wick. Heat pipes are now used in a wide group of heat move-related applications. In this work, a two- dimensional limited part number- based model is created for the reproduction of heat channels to their resulting state where execution attributes. The limited- component models are developed in ANSYS programming to predict the temperature with the heat pipe. Some cases are discussed with various types of heat pipe divider materials, powerful warm of the wick, no-go heat transpiration at the evaporator, and working liquids. In all the cases, heat pipes are shown as areas, especially, evaporator, adiabatic and condenser areas. Reasonable material and heat conductivity would help for the heat pipe divider. Chosen heat transition at the evaporator section. At the condenser segment, the convective heat moves and is applied. In the adiabatic section, if no there is no condition, ANSYS treats the surface as adiabatic. At the point when all these conditions recreate the model, ANSYS programming produces good results.

INTRODUCTION:
A wing is a sort of balance with a surface that produces streamlined power for flight or drive through the climate, or through another vaporous or fluid liquid. A wing's streamline quality is like lift-to-drag proportion. The lift of a wing creates at a given speed and approach can be one to two significant degrees. It is more prominent than the complete delay in the aircraft wing. A high lift-to-drag proportion requires an altogether littler push to move the aircraft wing through the air at an adequate lift.

This Ansys project has outlined the FE model utilizing beam elements to represent road bicycles using Ansys. The model mimics two standard stacking conditions. First, the vertical consistency and sidelong firmness of outlines of the bicycle geometry task. And second, these attributes to an improved arrangement in these conditions. Small edges (490 mm) carry both vertical consistency and horizontal solidness. The shorter top cylinder length (525 mm) and head tube point (74.5°) brings the side stiffer casing. The enhanced qualities show an extensive improvement over the current edges. It shows a 13% increase in vertical and 15% lessening in horizontal re-location.

Ansys stands for Analysis System. Ansys is called an ‘Analysis system’ just because in Ansys workbench all kinds of analysis systems are combined on one platform. In Ansys, to study about the fluids there is another in-built software known as CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) which helps us optimize our designs and can easily get us the results which we aim at. Ansys CFD goes beyond qualitative results to deliver accurate quantitative predictions of fluid interactions and trade-offs.
In Ansys, there are mainly 5 sections through which we can create or design a particular item, they are:
A device that controls the speed of the fluid flow, directions, and flow characteristics is a Nozzle. The nozzle is designed like a pipe with a non-uniform cross-section. This design helps in controlling the velocity, flow rate, pressure ratio, direction, etc.
Flow characteristics of the nozzle section can be varied with the variation in pressure difference at the outlet and the inlet sections.
A CD nozzle or convergent-divergent nozzle is shaped like a tube with two bulging ends and a narrow section in the middle. This structure/design gives a balanced shape for the nozzle. Nozzle speeds up hot, pressurized gas passing through it in the axial (thrust) direction, by converting the heat energy of the flow into kinetic energy. A CD nozzle is of most importance to increase the kinetic energy of the medium.
There’s a lot of pressure in improving the designs of internal combustion chambers. The engines of the next generation need to be light, small, powerful, and good adaptability, with the usage of less fuel and less pollution. To meet these competing requirements, innovative engine designs are drawn. The ability to analyze the performance of many engine designs has also become critical.
A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling of the spray formation process in a Diesel engine, developed in ANSYS-FLUENT using its discrete phase modeling (DPM) capability and its IC-engine module. To know about the performance of an IC engine it is important to know the fluid’s interaction and also the moving parts of the engine.
In convection, heat is transferred from one body to another with a medium present between and the heat travels from the heated body to the medium and then to the cold body and because of which heat is transferred to the surroundings.
Density plays an important role in the heat transfer process as it does not follow the law of reflection and refraction.
In the case of non-premixed methane BERL combustor, there are two ports incorporated:
The portable devices which can provide energy anywhere are the batteries. Batteries are almost used in every sector starting from our cell phones to the vehicles in which we move. As the competition in producing batteries has increased, for a company to stay in this competition good working is important.
Simulating batteries is a difficult job because of their metaphysical nature and where they are applied. Only Ansys helps us in simulating batteries and also to create better battery designs for any application.
Market leaders for battery making depend on the purpose of the battery and the company which provides good safety, proper size, and at an affordable cost. Simulation for a battery depends on its application and the amount of charge needed and its performance.
A device that is used to reduce pollutants and toxic gases in the exhaust gas from the combustion engine by chemical reactions is known as a catalytic converter. These converters need a temperature of 426-degree centigrade so that it can convert harmful gases into non-toxic gases, so these are placed as close as possible to the engine to get enough temperature which it requires.
These converters are mostly used in automobiles, but their application has also been increased in mining equipment, generators, etc. where the amount of harmful gas emission is high.
For analysis of the catalytic converter, Ansys has a different software which is FEA (Finite Element Analysis) followed by CFD Analysis by which we can know how efficient the converter is.
The method which uses vacuum to deposit materials that produce high-performance, high-quality solid materials is known as chemical vapor deposition. CVD is mostly applied in semiconductors manufacturing to coat/ produce thin films. CVD has become the most versatile and important method to synthesize any product.
In CVD, mostly water is used as a substrate and is exposed to one or more volatile presses which then reacts and deposits on the surface of the desired product. CVD widely produces microfabrication to deposit various materials like Si, C, W, etc. which are good conductors.
The main step in CVD is to study the properties of the material which has to be deposited and the properties of the substrate on which it has to be deposited.
To know about the vapor deposition on a substrate, Ansys has a separate software called Computational Fluid Dynamics software ANSYS/FLUENT is used.
Centrifugal blower was designed mainly to handle air and gases which are compressible fluids. A blower contains more than one stage of compression which is mounted on a single shaft. Blowers are mostly used in power stations, ventilation, workshops, etc.
A centrifugal compressor can be related to a fan-based on the type of application which it has been applied to. For the simulation of a centrifugal blower, Ansys’s CFD simulation software helps to analyze and give the result which is required.
In brakes, the main property is the thermal conductivity as a lot of heat is generated in the brakes when it is applied. So, the brakes must be strong enough to control or dissipate the heat and to stop the vehicle with minimum displacement in urgent situations.
The main property of the brake is that it should cool down rapidly to avoid any structural imbalances to the brakes and another thing is that it should clean itself automatically.
Disc brake slows the rotatory motion of the wheel by the abrasion of brakes pads onto the wheel. During braking, kinetic energy is converted into heat energy, which heats the air present in between the brakes by which the durability of the brakes increases.
Finite element analysis helps in numerically solving any engineering problem. FEA represents every engineering problem in a numerical way by which the solution to the problems can be known and whether the process is feasible or no can be known.
